Needs a hug

Hi kids. I need a hug. It seems like my world is spinning out of control. I'm trying my very hardest to do what I'm supposed to, but nothing seems to be working. Everyone hates me, I don't know what to change, I'm terrified of what lies ahead and how I'm going to deal with it, and I'll I want to do is drive away to some secluded corner of the earth and think for a while. I feel like I can't talk to anybody about what I'm feeling either! I'm so frustrated. If any of you awesome people want to yell at me now, feel free. Everyone hates me anyway. Maybe you could enlighten me on what I'm obviously doing wrong so I can fix things. Anyways, I hope all is going well for you.

Cruel, Commercialized, Corporate America

I hate Valentines Day decorations. The very sight of a sea of glittering pink and red is enough to make me want to puke. Valentines day was a stupid invention to make men feel guilty about not treating their wives/girlfriends with the decency and respect they deserved so they have to make a holiday so 1) Men can redeem themselves for being dolts the rest of the year 2) Or, a provide great opportunity to really screw up. Why do we have to make a holiday out of it? A guy shouldn't need a commercialized, superficial holiday to express how he feels about someone. Any day is a good day to receive flowers or a gift from the heart. We shouldn't have to put on a love parade with cherubs, heart confetti and Beatles music every February 14th.

Plus, Valentine's Day is also manifestation of all the other lonely, single people who haven't had a pesky cherub shoot them in the butt with cupid's arrow. They already feel like crap because they think no one loves them. Why rub it in? So what do we do? We get depressed, buy all the chocolate we can shove down our throats, and fill our minds with unrealistic crap found in every bad chick flick because our heart longs for something to that sappy degree. What does this say about us? We're a sick, masochistic society. Sick.

Desensitized Due to Extreme Drowsiness

do you ever get the urge to just write things but don't know what to write? Perhaps I should blame it on extreme lack of sleep or the fact that its taking all of my energy not to completely doze off while typing. Dear friends, let me start from the beginning. You see, my roommates and i went on our merry way for Christmas vacation without a care in the world. Little did we know that a monstrous beast would be lying in wake, ready to pounce on its poor, pathetic and unsuspecting housemates.
I was the one to discover the beast first. I swung by our quaint apartment first to drop off some Christmas spoils. To my great surprise, I discovered our power had been shut off...all Christmas break. I began to smell its rank, but thought nothing of it because I had to hurry and scamper up north.
Now....let me just reiterate. No power. All winter break. No electricity means that the refrigerator that was housing lots of our food lost all its juice. Which means all the food in our house began to rot and morph into said beast.
Now people, I usually can withstand some atrocious things that would make normal people hurl in a heartbeat. I don't even begin to get queasy in cadaver labs. But this stench was so incredibly awful, all who entered in ran out the door faster than crazed women on black friday. The monster breathed a thick fog of raunchy green smog, engulfing everything anywhere near the vicinity of the refrigerator.
When we finally were brave enough to open the door, we nearly died right on the spot. Inside was a swirling mutating cesspool of fungal frenzy. So, after a quick raid to the dollar store, buying a cheap rag mop especially to slay the fungal freak living in our fridge, we donned on our bright yellow vinyl gloves and held our breath.
To make a long story short, I lost my appetite and I didn't dare eat anything all day after the mess was cleaned up. The stench was embedded in my nose, so I walked around all day wishing for a hazmat shower. Story of my life, I'm sitting in class and everyone sits 5 feet away to keep away from the stench of rotting food and bleach. hahah, not really, but needless to say, I was pretty self conscious all day. Finals Week and New Adventures

Hi friends :) This week is finals, which is actually kind of relaxing, believe it or not. Last week was such a roller coaster of emotion, so this week feels like a breeze. I feel relaxed and happy, which are probably ideal emotions to feel before approaching an exam, so I'm truly grateful for that. :) OK, so new adventure!!! Um, yesterday happened to be Bread and Soup Nite, a lovely occasion where SUU students partake of bread and soup, mingle, donate food to the HOPE pantry for needy students on campus and get entertained by various groups, local and not so local. Since I volunteer, I have the opportunity to meet some cool bands. Last night, I met the coolest guys named Nick, Matt and Derek from the band Double or Nothing. We hung out for the evening and they spent the night because the roads were so bad. It snowed over a foot last night in Cedar City alone. I don't think either parties were upset at that fact, because we enjoyed ourselves so much. In a couple weeks, Johanna and I are doing a temple tour of Northern Utah. They're playing at first night in downtown Salt Lake and wanted us to come. So hopefully we'll be able to go to the temple with them and see their show New Years Eve. Its so odd, it's like I've known them for a long time already. They all have goofy, fun personalities like the guys I hung out with in high school. I'm pretty dang excited. Anyways, I'm doing well! I'm so excited to finally go home for Christmas!! I'll keep you posted on my life. :) Later!
